Pax Coffee-ana

Things that make my heart happy:

1. Anything Christmas related

2. Puppies and kittens

3. A fantastic cup of coffee

And I recently stumbled across my new favorite coffee shop in the Texas Hill Country. Her name is Pax. Pax is a coffee shop located in downtown Kerrville (25 minutes away from Fredericksburg). The atmosphere is blue. Blue like calm. Blue like cool. Blue like a fantastic cup of coffee.

The blue light fixtures hanging above the blue espresso machine are vintage - made in 1957. The blue glass spreads a blue glow across the front of Pax, where the blue-mirrored bar eagerly awaits her customers. The baristas are friendly, the coffee is strong, and the vibe is welcoming. So, of course, I ordered my chai latte to stay during my first visit.

Pax serves locally sourced coffee from Austin, Texas and serves it well! The spice flavor in my chai latte perfectly paired with the foam floating on top in my giant coffee mug. I made myself comfortable at a small table, garnished with a petite floral arrangement, and cracked open my book. I think a big part of the coffee shop experience is the decor and vibe. I definitely felt like I could sit there all afternoon, sipping on coffee, and enjoying my book. Happy heart!

So, I returned on International Coffee Day to treat myself to a cappuccino (because duh). The friendly barista quickly whipped up my drink, and I ordered an orange-cranberry scone before rushing out the door. I started scarfing it down during my drive to work and proceeded to get crumbs everywhere (oops). But the scone was DELICIOUS. Not only do they have amazing coffee, but they ALSO have mouth-watering baked goods. Win-win. If you need a caffeine boost and a happy heart, check out Pax.
