Everyday MVPs: 10 Things Making My Life Easier Right Now
Life lately has been a mix of blasting toddler tunes, baseball season chaos, and trying to soak up the little moments in between. But in the midst of it all, I’ve found a few things that are making my days just a little sweeter, smoother, or more fun.
From game-changing baby gear to small indulgences, here are 10 things I’ve been loving lately.
1. The Colugo Stroller
I cannot say enough good things about this stroller—it was a total lifesaver on my first solo-parent flight with Addy. It folds up compact enough to fit in the overhead bin, reclines for naps, has an extra sunshade (which we used at the Fort Worth Zoo so Addy could snooze), and opens/closes with one hand. Plus, it’s our go-to for campus walks and local events. Use code LIVINGANDLOCAL for 20% off your purchase (it’s stackable!)!
2. "Waffle House" by the Jonas Brothers
This song just sounds like summer to me. It makes me want to roll the windows down and bob my head like I’m in a 2000s teen movie. Instant mood booster.
3. The “Fun Toddler Songs” Playlist on Spotify
Addy and I are in our “One Little Finger” and “Wheels on the Bus” era. This playlist has saved me from many a car ride meltdown, and for that, I owe it everything.
4. A Powder Blue Workout Set from Target
This workout set is just so good. The top hits at just the right length, and the leggings are high-waisted enough to feel secure but comfy. Plus, the shimmer gives it a fun twist without being over the top. Bonus—it’s super affordable!
5. Dark Chocolate Pistachio Toffee from Trader Joe’s
I made the mistake of trying this once, and now I’m addicted. It’s my little treat after dinner, and I’m already dreading the drive to Birmingham when my stash runs out.
6. Non-Alc ISH Sparkling Rosé from Zero Proof
George and I did a damp January, and I’ve been more curious about non-alcoholic options since. This one is actually delicious—not too sweet, just the right amount of bubbly, and a great flavor. The best part? It ships right to your door.
7. Sweet Bee Organics Elderberry Elixir
George and I have been dodging colds left and right, and we’ve been taking this every morning. Does it actually work? Who knows. But it tastes amazing, and I feel healthier, so I’m going with it.
8. Baked Honeyed Brie from Half Baked Harvest’s Quick & Cozy
This is the easiest crowd-pleaser. We made it for NYE, and it disappeared in minutes. I usually add Hornsby Farms jam (strawberry basil or brambleberry—both are chef’s kiss). If you love a good cheese moment, this is a must-try. We’ve also tried a number of recipes in this cookbook and everything has been fairly easy and always delicious.
9. Auburn Public Library Family Programs
These Saturday morning programs at 9:30 and 10:30 are the perfect (and free!) way to get out of the house with a little one. Addy loves Family Story Time—it’s the perfect mix of singing, reading, and activities.
10. Adventure Challenge Date Night Pack
Baseball season is wild, and quality time with George can be hard to come by. These date night packs make it so easy to be intentional without even needing a sitter. Highly recommend for anyone in a busy season!
11. Mini Car Vacuum
Addy eats snacks in the car, so I’m CONSTANTLY having to clean out her car seat. Cheerios EVERY WHERE. This little hand-held vacuum is a life saver for getting crumbs out of the car!
