10 Things I've Been Loving Lately

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these lists, but I love sharing things I’m recently obsessed with! I also love reading about what other people are also obsessed with, so I can learn from their obsessions.

The first couple months of 2022 have been a bit wild for George and I (wild in a fun way)! We have not spent two consecutive weekends in Auburn since early November between weddings, family trips, holidays, anniversaries, weekend getaways with friends and work. Feel free to follow along with some of our recent adventures, here. It’s been a BLAST, but I’m also very excited to have some down-time for the next couple of weeks. George works with the Auburn baseball team, so we will be fully focused on sports for through the spring.

Every couple of months, I find myself gravitating towards certain products, songs or podcasts. So, I’ve made a list of a few things I’ve been really enjoying and/or have been making my life easier.

10 Things I’ve Been Loving Lately

  1. Bombas Slipper Socks. My mom stuck these in my stocking for Christmas and I haven’t taken them off since. They’re a cross between a sock and a slipper, have grippy bottoms (no slippage) and are super soft. Slipper socks are great for keeping my feet warm during the chillier months (as I work from home). Bombas always end up on my favorites list (because they are the GOAT) and this new product was no exception.

  2. The Snacks Daily Podcast. My coworker told me about this podcast in January and I’ve been trying to keep up with listening to their daily episodes ever since! High-energy hosts Jack Kramer and Nick Martell keep me chuckling through the entire recording as they chat through snippets of the latest business/investments news. Even if you’re not a big business podcaster, I think you’d enjoy this pod. Entertainment factor is 10/10.

  3. Wild Rivers. Their new album “Sidelines” is something I could listen to on repeat. Chill folk music perfect for any kind of drive. I can’t remember the last time I listened to an entire album all the way through … probably circa Kelly Clarkson when I was able to pop a CD into my purple boom box and jam out in my childhood bedroom.

  4. Rtic 12-Can Cooler. Their motto “Overworked. Not overpriced.” is a direct shot fired at a company whose name rhymes with Teddy. Makes me chuckle. George and I actually have the Yeti backpack cooler and LOVE it, especially for beach trips; however, we don’t always need a cooler that can hold an insane number of adult beverages. Rtic’s 12-can cooler is the perfect size for tailgating, weekends with friends and smaller events.

  5. Away Backpack. I snagged a version of this travel backpack when they had a sale during the 2020 chaos. It has been 10/10 worth the investment. It’s a sleek looking backpack, professional enough for work travel and sleek enough to turn heads. I love all of the extra pockets, the padded laptop pocket and the no-catch zipper. But my favorite feature?? This backpack will stand up on its own. There’s nothing like a scramble to grab your backpack as it slouches to the airport floor #germs … also, I can’t link this product as an affiliate link … this is just how much I love this product.

  6. The Rose Code. I recently finished reading a historical fiction about a British intel operation in northern England during WWII and couldn’t put it down. One of the main characters was a female code breaker, which I found to be a unique topic to immerse myself in. This fast-paced read and loosely based on truth. The author, Kate Quinn, also wrote The Alice Network, which made the New York Times Bestseller list (and another book I’d highly recommend).

  7. Limiting Evening Screen Time. George and I often have to be on our phones for work, so this can be difficult for us. Once baseball season starts, setting aside intentional time + date nights becomes tricky. George can average 4-5 games per week on top of turning around game stats, updating press releases and staying on top of social media. We’ve found that putting aside our phones or turning them off completely is a great way for us to focus on each other and make the most of our limited time together. I dare you to try it.

  8. Cleaning Insta/TikTok Accounts. I recently came across Carolina Home Hacks Queen when scrolling through Reels. Did you know that your washing machine has a filter you need to clean out every couple of months?! I didn’t. Not until Carolina. That evening, George and I spent about 30 minutes figuring out how to locate, remove and clean our washing machine filter. Now we know. And now YOU know.

  9. Isaiah 41. This particular piece of scripture feels relevant to the moment of world events we’re currently living through. Scripture always brings me comfort. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

  10. George’s Pick: Vuori Joggers. George was targeted HARD by Vuori’s Insta campaigns. He asked for a few pairs for his birthday and has been living in them ever since. I’ll admit - they’re some of the softest pieces of fabric I’ve felt in a while. So, if you’re in the market for some sleek and soft athleisure wear, George would highly recommend.

TA DAH! These are a few things I’ve been lovely lately. I’d love to hear if you love any of these same things OR if there’s something you think I would love and should try. Slide into my DMs on Insta! I’d love to chat.
