Delicious (and easy) Valentine's Day Cocktails

Valentine’s Day is a great way to celebrate love … and I love cocktails. Don’t you just love the opportunity to cheers love?

Here are a couple of cocktails ideas for if you’re hosting a Galentine’s Day event or wanting to change up your cocktail game for date night!

Pink Senorita

I love this cocktail, because it reminds me of a high-end paloma. When I was nineteen, I spent five weeks in Mexico City with some family friends. I was first introduced to the idea of a Paloma during a night out at the Discothèque (tequila + grapefruit Fanta). The flavor has a tinge of nostalgia for me. Plus, I love tequila.

Ingredients

2 oz tequila

1 oz St~Germain

1 oz lime juice

Top with sparkling grapefruit juice

Mixology Tips

Fill a highball glass with ice. Stir together tequila, St~Germain and lime juice. Top with sparkling grapefruit juice. Garnish with a strawberry slice. Salud!

Gin & Juicy

I’ll be honest … I don’t love aperol in a spritz cocktail form. It’s a bit too bitter for me. However, I think I’ve found a way to cut the bitterness of the aperol while keeping the flavor in a smooth sippin’ cocktail. The lemonade in this cocktail adds a sweet and refreshing component that pleasantly surprised me!

Ingredients

2 oz gin

1 oz aperol

3 oz strawberry lemonade

BONUS: Top with sparkling water or champangne if you like a little bit of fizz.

Mixology Tips

Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Add gin, aperol and strawberry lemonade to the shaker and shake until chilled. Strain into a coupe glass (or fun glass of choice). If you like bubbles, top with a dash of sparkling water or champangne.

Cheers!
