Fall Bucket List
“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald.
This quote particularly inspires me, because I FEEL like the crisp air brings me a newfound energy. The air buzzes with festive excitement. Neighbors don their porches with pumpkins, hay bales and fall-inspired wreaths, friends bake pumpkin flavored this-that-and the other, and you’re able to cozy up in your favorite giant sweaters.
I typically wait until the temperatures dip below 80 degrees to allow myself to feel festive. Last year, George and I had moved into our new home shortly before the fall season and I had a PORCH to decorate! There’s nothing so satifying as plopping down your aesthetically pleasing and locally-purchased pumpkins + mums on the side of your door.
Oh, fall. I love you. SO. With this energy, I’ve decided to put together a ~ fall bucket list ~ to help celebrate the beginning of a new season.
FALL BUCKET LIST
Visit a pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkins 🎃 Bonus if there’s a hay bale ride!
Make a spiked PSL and drink it on your front porch in a sweatshirt. This one is incredibly soft.
Read a thriller. Cause. Spooky szn. I recently read Verity and thought it was plenty unsettling (major page-turner). You could also pick up something more classic, like Frankenstein.
Perfect a soup recipe. This minstrone soup recipe looks AMAZING and I’m obsessed with this 30-minute thai peaunut ramen recipe.
Write a letter and mail it to an old friend or family member you haven’t seen in a while. Everyone loves getting mail, and it’s nice to keep in touch.
Gratitude List. Write down 10 things you’re thankful/grateful for in this season of your life. BONUS: 10 things you’re looking forward to for the rest of the year.
GET OUTSIDE! When the temps finally decide to chill out, I find spending time outdoors much for enjoyable (and less sweaty). Plan a day-trip to a local state park. Plan a fall-inspired picnic. Go on a walk somewhere new!
And if you’re one of my fellow locals … I have a list specifically for YOU!
AUBURN-OPELIKA FALL BUCKET LIST

Visit A Farmer in the Dell pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkin. They also offer hay rides and have farm animals!
Pine Hill Cemetery Lantern Tour. This is a historical tour of Auburn’s oldest cemetery! A great way to learn something new about Auburn’s history.
Auburn Food & Wine Festival (Oct 14-15). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local non-profits. Tis the season to eat.
