Summer Reading List

Summer is here and I’m ALL about the summer reads. There’s nothing better than sitting poolside, on the beach, back patio or curling up on the couch with a good read. I used to read a library of books over the summer (when I was in school), but trying to dive into personal reading while working can prove to be a challenge. HOWEVER, I think the trick is finding the right book. Something that will capture your attention immediately and keep you hooked until the very last page (does anyone else drop off the grid while immersed in a good book?). Here are my current favorites:

The Alice Network. A Reese Witherspoon Book Club book that will have you HOOKED in the first couple of pages. Based around true events, The Alice Network highlights a network of female spies who were utilized during WWI & WWII. All about that GIRL POWER!

Where the Crawdads Sing. I feel like the endings of books can be fairly predictable, but I DID NOT SEE THIS ONE COMING FROM A MILE AWAY. I loved being surprised at the end. A deep south murder mystery - it won’t disappoint.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. This rec is from one of my fellow book worm friends, Kaylon! She mentioned it was one of those books you picked up and didn’t put down until the last page.

Americanah. This book came so highly recommended that we’re currently reading it for my July Book Club. It’s a great piece of African literature (on multiple best-seller lists), and I the author is truly gifted at seamless story telling.

The Great Alone. This rec comes from my BFF, Carla - she’s always reading the most interesting books.

This selection of books should keep you with your nose in between the pages for a while! ENJOY AND HAPPY SUMMER!
