Lincoln Street :: A Local's Wine Bar
Lincoln Street.
The wine bar of all wine bars. Lincoln Street has been a family favorite for decades now (and Apple maps has been known to automatically route me there from work - oops). Lincoln Street sits just off of the Main Street hustle with a fantastic outdoor patio shaded by ivy vines.
Inside, the wine bar touts a subtle French-Vintage vibe. Vintage furniture (chairs that have been LOVED and heard many a story), vintage paned windows (often cracked to let the live music happily flow inside), vintage wines (the variety of vino is impressive), and sometimes vintage company (locals who have loved Lincoln Street for a long time).
Many a friendly human work at Lincoln Street. They love people and wine (obviously we're friends). Order your glass of wine at the bar, and they'll start you a paper tab. Honor system rules this wine bar. If you're looking to try something new - just describe your whims and flavor whimsies to the Lincoln Street sommeliers - and they'll offer a number of tasty choices. If you're in a snacky mood, try one of their charcuterie trays or a personal pesto pizza (I will personally attest to their deliciousness).
Take your hefty wine pour and make your way to the back patio to enjoy local live music. Lincoln Street is known for hosting local bands and artists to perform their acoustic works. If you're lucky, you might find more than one musician in the audience - and they'll hop up for an impromptu jam with the band for a song or two.
As tabs grow longer and your wine intake increases, you'll find yourself in a Fredericksburg dream. Living amongst the locals, sipping on a recommended glass of wine and swaying to the music underneath the Texas sky.
Lincoln Street is DEFINITELY on this local's favorite list.
