10 Things I've Been Loving Lately
Trying to keep a blog recent and relevant while simultaneously trying to keep a tiny human alive and also keep your sanity has been a challenge. And through the chaos there have been a few things that have brought me a little extra joy. So, I’m sharing them here on the blog!
10 Things I’ve Been Loving Lately
New shows! George and I are finally at the point where we can watch shows and movies together again (YEE YEE!). We BLEW threw Reacher (Prime), have been on the edge of our couch seats for each drop of Death and Other Details (Hulu) and just finished Season 1 of Shrinking (Apple). Action, Mystery and Comedic Drama … something for everyone!
Our Cozy Earth loungewear. I’ve been wearing my Bamboo Wide Leg Pull-On Pants and Bamboo Hoodie NONSTOP. The material is super soft and that thick ~I’m a good quality piece of clothing~ texture. As soon as I walk through the door after a long day’s work, this is the lounge set I’m stepping into. George is also an outfit repeater with his bamboo joggers and lounge tee.
These Country Covers by Josiah and the Bonnevilles make me want to pick up playing the harmonica. I’ve actually tried learning his version of Ghost on the guitar. I love the way it sounds!
Addy was gifted these photo cubes, so she could see the faces of family members who live out of town on a regular basis. Our family is spread across the United States, so these are extra sentimental. My niece was gifted these when she was a baby, and I swear it’s how she’s so good at all of our names! If you’re a visual person, check out my video about them HERE.
I am almost positive that I’ve mentioned this Zuppa Toscana recipe in my favorite things before, but it’s worth mentioning again. This recipe is DANG delicious, is relatively easy to throw together (VIP for parents), and makes a ton for leftovers. It’s one of our favorite cold-weather dishes. Bonus: the leftovers are just as good as the fresh soup.
You can bet your bottom dollar that I fell for a viral TikTok item and fell in love with it: Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm by Tarte Cosmetics! Shimmery color, easy glide and a tingly sensation. TBH - this is the most fun with lip gloss I’ve had since Lip Smackers were a thing.
It’s gloomy season which means everyone is fighting off the sniffles. I keep Throat Comfort tea always stocked in my pantry and I’ve recently been taking these Elderberry gummies (because I can’t do pills) to ward off anything nasty. And, of course, I love a “Medicine Ball” or a ~ jade citrus mint ~ tea from Starbucks.
All things Tuckernuck. I recently purchased a few dresses from their January sale and would have purchased more items had they not sold out so quickly. Saved my wallet, though. But their spring collection is STUNNING. If I had some extra shopping monies in my budget, I’d snag their Blue Toile Tate Dress (the ruffle detail!!) and this sky blue dress puts a modern twist on the shirt dress.
If you’re local, I’ve been loving the new Chai Old Fashioned from Lucy’s, the Eggplant Parmesan & Cheesy Bread from Fratellis, the “Young Man” latte from Sidetrack Coffee, and the Cobra Kai burger from Jack Brown’s.
And last, but certainly not least, this message about parenthood I recently came across on Instagram: “We hold someone’s childhood in your hands and we don’t get a redo.” That one hit be in the gut. We’ve had our turn at sleeping in late and having a spotlessly clean house. I’m in my motherhood era and it’s full of baby giggles, drool, early mornings, cheering on developmental milestones, and cuddles.
I hope you enjoy some of these recommendations as much as I have!
