10 Things I've Been Loving Lately

I always love it when people list out the things they’re loving lately. What music are they listening to on repeat? What videos make them laugh? Any products I should know about? It’s almost like taking a peek inside their every-day. So, in the same spirit, I’m sharing ten things I’ve been loving lately.

Plus, I’m overdue. The last “10 Things” blog post I published was back in February! Which is wild - I feel like this year and the summer months have absolutely FLOWN by. George and I flew to Omaha with the Auburn baseball team, explored Boston + Newport with our newest niece, took a beach trip to 30A, played a lot of golf, explored Highlands (North Carolina) and celebrated big life milestones for our friends (weddings and babies)! This summer has been a whirl, so no wonder we’re already entering the fall months.

Ten things I’ve been loving lately …

  1. Emily Henry’s recent novel, Book Lovers. Such a sweet read. I felt like it was the literary version of if a Hallmark movie and You’ve Got Mail had a baby. A quick and easy read full of clever quips and a heart-warming ending.

  2. Cinnamon roll pancakes. Susie K’s in Opelika has a FANTASTIC cinnamon roll pancake. I usually err on the side of savory for breakfast, but you can order a pancake as a side and it’s truly the best of both worlds.

  3. Puki Maui’s sweet canvas tote bags. The seahorses print just hits me in the heart and makes me smile everytime! Reminds me of endless summer. A sweet family friend of ours makes these bags by hand! She grew up in Hawaii, so her business is inspired by life on the island.

  4. My library card. I’ve been checking out ~2 books a month since last fall and speeding through my reads. And every time I check out a new book, the library will send me a receipt to tell me how much money I’ve saved by using my library card. I’m upwards of $1,300 right now, which is crazy! I should be better about tracking what I’ve read and what I want to read on Goodreads … that’s going to be my goal to keep through the end of this year.

  5. Half Baked Harvest’s Every Day cookbook. We’ve made her lemon blueberry poppyseed muffins and her easy ricotta ravioli with lemon herb corn (except we cheated and bought ravioli from the store instead of making it). Everything is delicious!

  6. The song “Hey Rivers” by Drew and Ellie Holcomb. I’ve been listening to it on repeat, and I really love how they harmonize together! … “every day’s a party when you live like ice-cream cake” … who wouldn’t love that lyric?! Makes me smile. Speaking of songs, Matt and I finally got around to recording Simply the Best and it sounds AWESOME. Listen to it, HERE.

  7. Our new bedding by Red Land Cotton. I’ve been wanting a quilt for the summer months, because LORD KNOWS it’s blazing here in the south through the latter part of October. Red Land Cotton is a family owned + operated out of northern Alabama where they grow all of the cotton for their textiles! Their products are all American-made, too. The classic quilt is beautiful. 8. Hiking to the Smith Mountain Fire Tower on Lake Martin. George and I set off on an adventure the other weekend and headed north towards Dadeville. There’s an area along the northeast side of the lake where you can hike along the shoreline and/or climb up to the highest point on the lake! I shared tips for hiking HERE. You can also check out a video of our excursion, HERE. The views were incredible!

  9. My new one-shoulder athletic dress from Amazon. I snagged this baby a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing it on repeat. I have a couple of the Outdoor Voices athletic dresses, but they don’t have a built in bra. The Amazon version has built in shorts and a built-in bra. VIP. And a great price point.

  10. Grey Lady Girl Instagram. Run by Nantucket native and talented photographer, Georgie Morley, this account is FULL of dreamy New England aesthetics. Nantucket has been on my bucket list since I was in middle school. My grandmother went for a visit with her traveling gal’s group and brought me back an illustrated book all about the island. I fell in love. And NOW … I’ve actually planned a trip with MY gal group! I can’t wait to share our quick trip with you.

  11. BONUS: My Rhoback golf gear. My bluebonnet print sleeveless golf polo is SO CUTE and reminds me of Texas. George also loves their polos. They make a TON more fun prints for the guys (disadvantage of being a female in a male-dominated sport) soooooo perhaps something to keep in mind as a gift idea! The holidays will be here before we know it. Use code HOPE15 for 15% off of your first order! Code expires 9/9/22.

Happy happy!!
