Auburn-Opelika Fall Bucket List
October is one of my favorite months, because you feel a change in the air both literally and figuratively. Everyone starts putting out their festive holiday decor and you can finally walk outside without melting (well, most of the time).
I'm excited for the next couple of weeks because I have some FUN travel coming up! I’ve been anticipating October since the beginning of 2022, blinked, and now we’re here. Where has the time gone? One of my dearest friends is getting married in Dallas this weekend, and then I'm headed off to Salt Lake City for a family wedding in the mountains! Weddings are always such a happy occasion - I am looking forward to reconnecting with friends + family members and jamming on the dance floor.
In addition to the fun, fall travel I have on the calendar, I also love making a fall bucket list. The list will almost always include decorating my front porch with mums & pumpkins, making s’mores with friends and sipping on an autumnal-flavored drink (i.e. my maple cider mule).
And, of course, there are some FESTIVE fall events in Auburn-Opelika that come along with the season!
Auburn-Opelika Fall Bucket List
1. Drink a pumpkin spiced white russian from John Emerald Distillery (they have a variety of festive cocktails for you to chose from!).
2. Pick a pumpkin at Farmer in the Dell pumpkin patch!
3. Listen to live music on the patio in a SWEATER without sweating (Matt and Hope Music will be playing on the patio of Botanic on October 20th!).
4. Decorate the front porch with mums and fall florals from The Potting Shed.
5. Opelika Haunted Walking Tour. I’m not much for spookies and scaries, but historical ghost stories are always an interesting blend of history and ghosts.
6. Eat a pumpkin cupcake from Well Red. They. Look. Delicious.
7. Visit a state park! Cheaha State Park has been on my list to visit for a WHILE because I want to be able to claim climbing to the highest point in Alabama. AND, see all of the fall foliage from above the tree tops.
