Gift Ideas for a New Mom
George and I are at a point in our lives where wedding invitations are starting to become baby shower invitations. We’re entering into a new season of life! A season filled with cute mini humans and lots of baby snuggles.
I’ve had a number of close friends become new moms this year, and it has been so fun to watch them lean into their new roles. Because all things motherhood related are somewhat foreign to me, I asked my friends what gifts would be the most helpful for a new mom. My bestie, Carla, helped me come up with a practical list of items (she had her son, Lewis, in September)!
Of course, baby registries are VIP! But then comes life after baby … and so I wanted to compile a list of things that would make life a tad easier for mom (& dad!) as they adjust to parenthood.
These are few gift ideas for a new mom.

HYDROFLASK WITH STRAW. Water bottle with a no-spill lid + a straw. Mom’s are constantly holding little ones, so water bottles that can tip over or rest on couch pillows or the carpeted floor are VIP!
Yeti Rambler Tumbler. I can personally testify that this tumbler will keep coffee hot for hours.
Nipple Butter. For the mommas!!
PJs with a button down top. THIS SET is less than $24 and is super soft!
Cozy Cardigans like this Barefoot Dreams Long cardi.
An Audible subscription or audio books!
Dog walking service for parents who have pets!
Snacks you can eat with one hand. Like this TRAIL MIX. Healthier = good fuel for mama and baby!
Monogrammed Burp Cloths. So sweet!
Additional Gift Ideas (from my bestie, Carla)
-Food. I've found easy breakfast and lunch the most helpful. Some people might appreciate like a blue apron if they're tired of eating out and like to cook. Grocery delivery gift card would be awesome, too. Quick note - Carla meal-prepped a month’s worth of breakfast sandwiches and easy dinners with one of our best friends, Ashley. Offering to help meal prep pre-baby is a great gift!
-House cleaning.
-Honestly, above all, support/encouragement and general checkins are the best! And cheap 😉
Ta da! I thought this list was very helpful, especially for someone who isn’t sure exactly what to gift (aka: me). Watching friends become new parents is amazing to behold!
