EURO DESTINATION ANNOUNCEMENT!

I have a group of college girlfriends that likes to reunite at the start of every summer. Since graduating, we’ve re-located across Texas and the southeast (*points at self*) so getting together is a MAJOR treat. We always tossed around the idea of traveling internationally together, AND WE FINALLY BOOKED OUR TICKETS! As a group, we decided to visit….

PORTUGAL!

Portugal is the westernmost country in Europe and is also the OLDEST (having the same defined borders since 1139). Best known for their maritime prowess, their colonial empire spanned the globe and lasted ~600 years (which is one of the longest in modern European history). The Portuguese language and culture have had a global impact (Portuguese is the 6th most common language spoken in the world, the Port wine industry, etc), so we are thrilled to visit!

Today marks ONE MONTH until takeoff and after 8 months of planning, Google Hangouts and endless email threads…WE ARE READY FOR PORTUGAL!

Portugal is a destination that speaks to our many different travel styles. We have a foodies, “GO DO SEE EVERYTHING” enthusiasts, rooftop cocktail lovers, and more relaxed vacationers. We decided on Portugal for a number of reasons, one of which being that it seemed to cater to all of our travel “needs”. Portugal offers cities, wine, cliffs, beaches, fresh cuisine, and a whole lot of culture.

Excited doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings. I haven’t visited Europe since studying abroad in Granada, Spain in 2014 (AKA: it’s been too long). Our itinerary is mostly finalized, and I wanted to share a little bit of a sneak peek!
