Hondo's on Main :: Margaritas on the Best List
Margaritas on Main. They don't come any better (or stronger) than at Hondo's.
Of my very long list of Fredericksburg recommendations, Hondo's would be towards the top. It is just SO hill country. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is casual, the food is tasty (order at the bar), the drinks are strong, and the live music scene is foot tappin', knee slappin' good.
I've been a regular at Hondo's since I was a young girl. And, I can honestly say, their burgers are something I order almost every time I come. You can't go wrong with any burger on the menu, but my personal favorite is their Blue Ribbon BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (say that 5 times fast). WARNING: You will need plenty of napkins to consume. Order with curly fries or sweet potato fries.
AND. I am known to be a sucker for a good margarita. Every local knows where to get the best marg in town: Hondo's. They have a couple of different varieties (watch out for that pineapple); however, I usually stick with their House Margarita. These drinks are as tasty as they are STRONG, so don't let them sneak up on you! And - if you're not a tequila drinker - they can replace tequila with Deep Eddy's Ruby Red Vodka (Austin based vodka distillery).
Hondo's has a GREAT patio atmosphere, which makes it a great music and event venue during the spring and fall time. You can also find their main stage inside, and I've witnessed a KILLER performance from a (rather limber) fiddler ON TOP of the bar!! And the CROWD WENT WILD! (Spectacular performance - the whole place whipped out their phones to document the occasion).
Overall experience: 10/10. Overall margarita experience? 10 and hit the floor. *winky face* SALUD!
