2020 Travel Bucket List

TWENTY TWENTY. I can’t believe we’re at the start of a new decade! I just love the way 2020 looks when I type, write and pronounce it. This year is going to be one for the books!

Each year, I love mapping out a travel “bucket list” full of destinations I’ve been [wander]lusting after. Last year, I was able to cross off Puerto Rico and Sintra, Portugal from the list. Both were amazing (and drastically different) experiences. For 2020, I’ve been eyeing …

  1. Hallstatt, Austria. I recently stumbled across this GEM of a village in southern Austria. This small town is nestled in the side of a mountain overlooking a GORGEOUS lake. Google it. The views are incredible. Take a ferry ride across the lake, tour some of the oldest salt mines in the world, and/or take a cable car to the top of the mountain for lunch.

  2. Tulum, Mexico. Sometimes I get a craving to sit on the beach with my toes in the sand and fall into a travel planning rampage. Usually the beach photos I gravitate towards are captured in Tulum. South of Cancun, Tulum has a very distinct - one with the earth - vibe and is known for their clean and creative cuisine.

  3. Banff, Canada. I’m on a mission to see more naturally beautiful places the next couple years of my life. And Banff would be one of those places - it was Canada’s first official National Park. A hike through the mountains, surrounded by gorgeous lakes, rivers and waterfalls? Followed by afternoon tea at Chateau Lake Louise? Ok. Sign me up.

  4. Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My family took a group trip to Jackson Hole when I was about three years old, so, obviously, all I can remember is eating Lucky Charms and crafting a collar for my stuffed lion out of pipe cleaners. Surrounded by the Grand Tetons and a quick ride away from Yellowstone, Jackson Hole seems to be the picturesque, cute cabin filled, snow-capped mountain destination.

  5. Fairhope, Alabama. Fairhope consistently pops up on the ever popular “cutest small towns in the south” lists. This small town sits right on the bay, so visitors can enjoy sunsets by the water and bike rides along the beach. Its basically in my backyard - I need to visit ASAP!

  6. Mendoza, Argentina. I’ts no secret that I love wine, and our wine tour of Douro Valley in Portugal this past May was a BLAST. I’d love to visit South America, learn to tango and visit some world-renowned wineries at the same time!

And thus concludes the list (for now). I hope L&L’s travel bucket list has inspired you to travel more in 2020. Cheers!
