Baron's Creek Vineyards

Baron’s Creek is arguably one of Fredericksburg’s most “instagrammable” wineries. This winery is one of the first stops out on Highway 290 along the wine trail (and almost directly across from Altstadt Brewery), so you can’t miss it!

I love visiting Baron’s Creek when Mother Nature sends us some FAB patio weather. They have a wonderful courtyard behind their tasting room that looks like something straight out of Tuscany. It’s perfect for sharing a bottle of wine between friends. And, on occasion, they have yard games out for us wine-o’s to enjoy!

Their wine selection is extensive, which makes for a great tasting experience for a group with differing pallets. The wines range from sweet to dry, all with good flavor.

I’ll note my favorites:

Viognier (sweeter white)

Pinot Gris (crisp white wine - good for patio sittin’)

Tempranillo (smooth red - my pick of the reds)

Texas Merlot (dry and spicy)

Sweet Dreams Texas Port (great for any Port drinker! Definitely a dessert wine for me)

Rosé (award winning and one of my favorite rosé’s in town)!

Baron’s Creek does offer a room for private tastings and a balcony experience (something to consider if you’re visiting for a special occasion). And, if you really want to immerse yourself in the Texas wine experience, you can stay on site in a villa!

Overall, a great wine tasting experience. I’m constantly seeing photos of their courtyard pop up on my Instagram feed. So ENJOY and don’t forget to snap a photo with their fountain + wine!
